Optimizing your site for the wrong keywords

I’ve been through a lot of websites since i learned about optimizing search engine keywords. i’m not that good yet but i want to share something with my fellow web blogger / webmaster who are strugling to get their site popular to search engine., I leared a few things from top sites like problogger.com , Linkbuildingblog.com , LiewCF.com and now i want to share with you guys.

The first step in any search engine optimization campaign is to choose the keywords for which you should optimize your site. What your site is all about? Try to find a niche that attract people to come to come to your page. If you initially choose the wrong keywords or the keyword aren’t suitable, all the time and effort that you devote in trying to get your site a high ranking will go down the drain. If you choose keywords which no one search for, or if you choose keywords which won’t bring in targeted traffic to your site, what good will the top rankings do? Try to play with overture application to get keyword suggestion, see which words most likely people to key in inside the search box. Otherwise you can use Wordtracker for a better performance and accuracy.

Now, how to submit your site so it will be listed a higher ranking at the search engine. Here are two most popular search engine on the internet, try to submit to them,
Submit your page at Yahoo: http://submit.search.yahoo.com/
Submit your page at google: http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl

Well.. theres a lot more directories that you can submit. try to submit as much as you can.

Ok..Lets save others for later. Thx.

[Tips - Effective Search Engine Optimization]

by mr.eims on Oct.12, 2005, under Search Engine Optimization, Tips & Tricks

When your potential customers use search engines, keywords are the words and phrases they type into the search box while looking for products and services like yours.

The best keywords are those words and phrases commonly typed in by your potential customers, but which aren’t used much on your competitors websites.

In other words, if you optimize your pages for keywords your potential customers use a lot, but your competitors haven’t thought of, you win.

But here’s the catch…you’ll never get to know which are the best keywords for your website simply by guessing.

If you attempt to optimize your pages for words and phrases that are just your best guesses, you are losing potential customers and wasting valuable time.To make sense of the time and money you spend on search engine optimization, you need to KNOW that the keywords you use will deliver results.

Wordtracker is by far the industry’s best method of developing a highly relevant and highly targeted list of keywords. Even if you are not too concerned about this, give Wordtracker a try, it will be worth your money. If you do not want to try them, feel free to use the Overture Keyword Suggestion.Well for better result, better use the Wordtracker.
