SEO - Total Search Engine Optimization Strategies

by mr.eims on Apr.12, 2008, under Search Engine Optimization, Tips & Tricks

A webmaster should not just make a website for a few readers. But targeting millions of readers from all over the world is not an easy work. Work has to be done such as getting it optimized for search engines. Your web site has to be made search engine friendly, that is to say, it must meet certain expectations of the “crawlers” or “spiders” of search engines. The index that these crawlers have created will be used in ascertaining the status of your web site in terms of relevancy to the requests of users.

FIRST OF ALL, THE DOMAIN NAME CREDIBILITIES
You must have planned everything for your site before applying it physically don’t you? A domain name should not be too long or difficult to remember. It should relate to the content of your web site. Within the domain name, there should preferably be keywords that a crawler will understand. Abbreviations, dashes, underscores, numerals and other meaningless characters should all be avoided. Always opt for a .com name if possible, simply because it is a more common term that readers think of.

KEYWORD RICH SUBTITLE
The titles for all of your pages should be keyword-rich. They should be easily understood by visitors, and more importantly should contain keywords that will relate to whatever your customers may want to search for. In search engine optimization, search engines often use the [TITLE]; element as the text for their link to your site. Emphasis is placed by search engines in this area of optimization because it enables them to determine the relevance of your page to a visitor’s search. The titles for your pages should preferably be less than 50 characters including spaces. This enables you to select a title that is precise, and one that will not be truncated in search results for reason of length. For immediate impact, include your call to action, so that attention of visitors can be captured.

OPTIMIZE THE FULL USE OF META TAGS
Description and keyword properties should be included in your headers’ META elements. META name=”description” content=”[brief description of your site]” is often used by search engines to find out what your site is all about. It will be beneficial to put yourself in the shoes of your customers. You can think about how they will go about searching for information, and you can subsequently choose appropriate terms that will capture traffic to your site. A great research tool to use is Wordtracker. You’ll be surprise by the result of good meta usage.

I ALWAYS SAID THIS WORD, CONTENT IS KING
It is imperative to provide good and rich content on your web site. The content should always be keyword-rich, as this facilitates good classification of your pages by the search engines. It must be interesting and entertaining. Quality is the keyword as far as content is concerned. Remember, this is very important. Content should therefore be fresh and should never be a duplicate. Search engines now include in their search algorithm ways to effect measurement of freshness of content on all sites. and remember that spiders cannot read images, use < ALT > tags for images as it can increase your site traffic.

FEED THE VISITORS, KEEP THEM UP TO DATE
Another tips is to encourage your visitor to subscribe to your site. Best way is to have site feed such as RSS or Atom. Feedburner is one of service provider that can empower your feeds and able to publicize, monetize and optimize your feed to the fullest. This way you can cut your time from wasting it to advertise other way to send updates to readers. One more things that need to be done is submit your feed to feed directories.

BUILDING LINK EMPIRE
Web sites that get incoming links do get a higher ranking. If these incoming links originate from a site with higher ranking and which perform well for key phrases that are related to your content, these are good links of quality that will push up the ranking of your site. They will greatly benefit your site. It will be to your advantage to request them to link back to your site. Everything on your site must be properly linked; all links must be functioning, because this will enable all of your content to be indexed. This shows a good strategy for search engine optimization in operation.

SUBMIT SITE TO THE WORLD
Your site must be registered with major search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, and Open Directory Project once it is sufficiently optimized. Instructions given by each search engine are different from one another, so it is important to follow instructions closely, to avoid having your site improperly indexed. For best results, do it right - straight from the beginning. (Use tools like Submitplus to get this done in a blink and maintenance free)

FOOTER CAN INCREASE PAGERANK TOO
As stated in my older post (Get search engine rank with footer), its true that search engine also focusing on the footer of the page. It will be best if you put your key-phrases and some links on the footer of each page.

ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLY SITE
Your site is too full of contents plus heavy images, multi-medias to attract your visitor. Actually it’s not really useful. The right thing to do is make a crawler friendly pages. Don’t waste your time with applications of spamming strategies such as irrelevant metadata and hidden text. You won’t like it when you loose. Play it smart when you are in your zest aiming for higher search-engine rankings. Avoid strategies that offer the easy way out for getting good ranking.

LASTLY, JUST RELAX…
Simple word…Relax.. It may take some time to reach search engine No 1 spot. The time spent on search engine optimization for your web site will definitely not be lost just because the top spot is not reached yet. There are still numerous other ways of capturing traffic besides performing a little more tweaking of your site.

As the conclusion, your web site must be optimized for search engines, as this will help you secure a better search result, better site ranking, and not forgetting increase in site traffic. For your desired results, you will need to apply the strategies for search engine optimization listed above.

[Get some images on adsense profit]

by mr.eims on Nov.10, 2005, under Pay per click

This article was taken from http://www.associateprograms.com/ and I find it interesting to show to all adsense user. It can give you a clear image on how to get your targeted profit with your adsense ads.

Let’s say you have a goal of earning $100,000 a year from AdSense. Is that possible?
Let’s see … $100,000 divided by 365 = $274 a day. So your goal is to produce either:274 pages which earn $1 a day
OR
548 pages which earn 50 cents a day
OR
1096 pages which earn 25 cents a day

The following are hypothetical cases. To earn $1 a day per page, you need, per page…

400 visitors, 5% click-through rate (CTR) and average 5c payout.
Or 200 visitors, 10% CTR and an average 5c payout.
Or 100 visitors, 10% CTR, and an average 10c payout.
Or 100 visitors, 5% CTR, and an average 20c payout.
Or 50 visitors, 10% CTR and 20c average payout.
Or 25 visitors, 20% CTR and 20c average payout.
Or 20 visitors, 10% CTR and 50c average payout.
Or 10 visitors, 20% CTR and 50c average payout.
Or 5 visitors, 20% CTR and $1 average payout.

Let’s assume you choose a goal somewhere around the middle, say aiming for 50 visitors per page and want 274 pages earning $1 a day. You’d need 274 x 50 = 13,700 pageviews a day.

Does that sound too tough? If so, you’d better look for more profitable keywords and ways to improve your click-through rates.

Let’s try a different scenario. You choose more profitable keywords and make your $1 on average per page from, say, 10 visitors. 274 x 10 = 2740 pageviews a day.

That’s looking easier to achieve. If your average visitor sees 3 pages, you now need 913 unique visitors a day.

Is that too tough to achieve in your niche? If so, create two sites, each attracting half that number, 456 unique visitors, a day.

Can’t achieve those click-through rates and payouts? Then you’ll either need more pages on your sites on more niche sites.

Some affiliates have a goal of writing one article a day and building one site a month.

Need a little more help reaching that $100,000 goal? Add affiliate commissions into the equation. Add a newsletter for repeat sales.

Choose the goal which best matches your site or sites.

Then start building keyword-rich pages containing well researched, profitable keywords, and get lots of high quality links to your site.
